This serves as a gallery of the paintings of Procopio Resabal Jr., a Filipino landscape artist, who learned watercolor painting under Khun Pe Seenam, a Thai master watercolor painter.
The space will be a venue to share the artist's visual reflections of his Southeast Asian journey, as well as certain mordant moments of experience.
Eventually, it will become a forum where friends can exchange ideas and experiences in their respective journeys as in a cafe.
Have a happy journey!
The first work was painted in plein aire beside the Abatan River in Maribojoc, Bohol. It makes a record of having been the painting with the longest time to complete-- from mid 2009 to mid 2010. A lot of things happened in between, like the making of film near the place, etc.
ReplyDeleteThe second painting was initially painted in plein aire from a friend's resort in Punta Cruz, Maribojoc in 2008. Again, a lot transpired in between and I have to rely on memory and refernce images most of the time.
The third work a road less travelled in Toril, Maribojoc, Bohol, was started in 2003 when I just started to learn how to paint, then I left it unfinished, until in 2009, I reworked on it.
The fourth one is a familiar site to visitors to Bohol-- the famous hills of Carmen in summer. Since I could not possibly paint there, it was based on whatever I remembered and studies, including my niece Pauline's.
